Experience

“I’m highly driven by the prospect of drilling deep into the complexity of a client’s project. This really enhances the teamwork aspect of our business and that’s very exciting to me.”

Aya Hattori joined Michael Page Japan as an associate consultant in 2014 and become director of the organisation in January 2022.

Passionate about learning, Aya graduated with a Comparative Education master’s degree from the University of London, studying the gap between what is taught at university, and the reality of the work environment: insight that has proven invaluable in the recruitment world.

Having the opportunity to work exclusively with clients on large-scale projects, to deeply analyse and understand their business needs, and put together tailor-made solutions, is one of her key motivators. Aya goes beyond simply placing candidates, but rather strives for ways to ensure employee retention into the future. Her honest and transparent approach to recruitment, fast turnaround time and fluency in both English and Japanese, make her a safe pair of hands for clients and candidates alike. Aya now leads the D&I projects at Michael Page Japan, as well as creating career advice seminars for university students.

In her spare time Aya takes any opportunity to get outdoors and loves a round of golf or tennis.
